Who I’d Like To Meet*

 

 

I'd like to meet the Everpresent, the New Prometheans of arid lands of bright light or of dark, cool caves in a sweltering jungle; scarred Adventurers with tales of far islands and forest outposts; intrepid epic Champions ascendant and descendant to Gods; Inventors and Artists defiant of all paradigm demanding conformity; self-reliant, hard-working Souls at War with the swamp-minded intent on theft of the fruits of honest labor; Heroes heel-wounded by the serpent Dypsis, whose clear venom inspires unquenchable curiosity; trembling Mystics and cipher-cuddling Poets reverential of ancient wisdom; reclining, star-gazing Vagabonds inquisitive of the new and the distant, the strange and the radical, the revolutionary and the dark; Hosts and Guests who laugh heartily over wine, love intensely, and forgive quickly; Folk who live simply, like Backpackers whose trail demands leaving much behind; Dancers ‘round the Fire, who gyrate wildly and chant effusively their Verse of the Song the Universe sings.
