Hymn of Praise to Aton, Amenhotep IV, also known as Akhenaton^

Text Box:

How manifold are thy works!

They are hidden before men,

O sole God, beside whom there is no other.

Thou didst create the earth according to thy herat.

Thou didst make the distant sky in order to rise therein.

In order to behold all that thou hast made. . .

The world subsists in thy hand,

Even as thou hast made them.

When thou hast risen they live,

When thou settest they die;

For thou art length of life of thyself,

Men live through thee.

^Egyptian god-king. The name Aton means "solar globe"
